It was 06.00 clock, when we flew with blurry eyes and great anticipation in Helsinki, after having flown driven 2 1 / 2 hours from Manorom to Bangkok, Bangkok to Hong Kong and Hong Kong, then our present goal. Getting our bearings, we took a bus to Central Station where we our luggage in lockers, grabbed a coffee and secured our onward ticket before the start of cities to enjoy precious stones.

We made our way to the little harbor with leisure, and took the ferry to Suomenlinna: a sea fortress built about 250 years ago, filled with lots of rich history to discover. Really beautiful.

Back to the main land, Market Square was a buzz with stalls selling all manner of things to make you drawl and send shivers of pure excitement; convincingly bring home the fact that we were here in Finland…mountains of fresh Summer berries, Salmon steaks cooking – whose aroma was heavenly, and so many absolutely, positively

Eyes wide with delight we meandered the cobbled streets…soaking up the
beauty of the city with it””””s broad boulevards, Art Nouveau and Neoclassical architecture that is typified by Nordic modesty and refinement, and it””””s many people enjoying the warm Summers sun in the city parks, giving the feeling of a more relaxed pace to life. There were many incredible Churches to awe us, and run the camera battery low, trying desperately to capture even a glimpse of their unique beauty… We made our way down the tree-lined streets and around shimmering Lake Töölönlahti, past the Olympic Stadium, taking in the very popular Sibelius Monument and finished at Temppeliaukio or Rock Church, built entirely underground with a fascinating coiled ceiling made of copper wire.
